What is a DTS?
- it’s a course that helps you give God room to move in your life
- it’s a safe place where you can learn who God is and how to recognize His voice
- it’s about transformation, not information
- it’s about release and not control
- it’s a part of your journey with the Almighty Creator, letting Him love you so you can love the world as He does
- it’s about letting go of the world and grabbing hold of eternity
The Details
A Discipleship Training School (DTS) is an intensive Christian training course designed to encourage students in personal character development, cultivating a living relationship with God and identifying their unique individual gifts and callings in God. Cross cultural exposure and global awareness have special emphases.
Throughout the course you will hear from both local and international speakers, men and women who live what they talk about, down-to-earth people who have experienced God move in the very areas they are teaching on.
What it looks like
- 6 months full-time (3 months in a classroom setting + 3 months doing practical ministry locally and overseas)
- Live, learn, and work with a bunch of other radical people (from all different nations) willing to give God six months of their lives to get to know Him and find out their destiny in Him
- Get teaching from international speakers who live what they teach; get personal input from your individual mentor; talk about real issues that matter to God in a small group of Christians who want to love God with everything they’ve got

- God’s Nature and Character - Encounter God:
- recognize God’s voice and obey Him in everyday decision-making
- respond to God through worship and prayer
- understand the characteristics of and ways of God
- study the Bible and apply it to everyday situations
- God’s Intention for Individuals, Peoples, and Creation - See Life from God’s Perspective:
- respect human life
- recognise the significance to God of individuals, peoples and nations
- integrate Biblical perspective into lifestyle and choices
- how to relate to others—individuals, societies, and cultures
- God’s Redemption, Sin and the Cross - Recognise Jesus as Lord:
- respond in faith to Jesus
- understand the reality of Satan and his strategies
- understand practical spiritual warfare
- walk in the fear of the Lord and resist sin
- God’s Family, His Children and Church - Become More Like Jesus:
- cooperate with the Holy Spirit
- relate to God as His child
- develop Christ-like attitude and reflect Christ in relationships
- how to work and live in unity with other believers
- God’s World, His Call and His Commission - Do the Works of Jesus:
- respond to the Great Commission and Abrahamic Covenant
- respond to needs of peoples and nations with little to no Gospel witness
- seek out and respond to those who do not have relationship with Christ
- respond to the poor and needy
- clarify personal life direction and purpose
- participate in a cross-cultural missions experience in a team context
- YWAM, A Response to God – Knowing God and Making Him Known:
- explore the history, vision and foundational values of Youth With A Mission (YWAM)
- explore the history, purpose and function of YWAM’s calling to training, mercy ministries, and evangelism

Cost of a dts
- Classroom / Lecture Phase: $3,500AUD
- Outreach Phase: approximately $2,500 - $4,500AUD (depending on location and airfares)
